- I love the fact that you think Indiana is in "good financial" shape, and in reference to our tax surplus/refund I wouldn't turn down the state giving me money for a change but I still don't think our state is in good financial shape! Reasons being the fact that we are still taking money away from our public schools and expecting them to excel at teaching, then we throw in a voucher program that takes even more money away from the school and expect them to still perform. To top that all off there is simply the record of our school children with education levels no where near the top in the USA. So, yes it's no wonder we have so many low income citizens and our state officials courting low paying companies to move here. I might add another fact, promoting poor education in the state leads us to elect officials who only think of the few and not the whole of the state!
