- Since businesses are required to pay into both the state and federal unemployment funds for each employee, the empolyees on unemployment should be able to rely on the funds to be available to them. Granted, there are many people out of work right now. This is a terrible time to be looking for a job. What we really need is a complete revamping of government spending and a way to stimulate our economy so that businesses can survive and thrive.
