  1. Yes! It's time for our elected officials to totally ignore the will of their constituents and do what they want to...oh...wait..

I actually don't mind all the planning. Sure, the pols get to grease the hands of their buddies and taxpayer dollars are wasted, but just think of all the money wasted if any of these schemes actually comes to fruition! Keep planning!

  2. It doesn't matter if he has the knowledge of the subject to spew an opinion? What does matter then? Feelings?

  3. Read what the Founding Fathers that wrote the Constitution had to say about the issue. Since they had recently broken away from the tyranny of England, tyrannical government was high on their list of reasons to include the right to keep and bear arms. The idea that it was created for use against President Obama is a liberal myth.

  4. Never happened? Um, how do you think The United States of America broke away from England? Asking nicely?

  5. The Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights. They were all ratified at the same time. It is indeed the right of every American to keep and bear arms just like it their right to speak freely and attend the church of their choice.

I think it is you that needs to really read history.

  6. More liberal talking points spew. I would wager that you own as many guns as I own France.

  7. Please stop calling this scheme an "expressway". It will be a TOLLROAD. Check the Indiana Toll Road to see how many trucks will be diverted from the Borman. Very, very few. The Times continued attempts to ram this and other boondoggles through at their readers expense makes me wonder.

The Times want us to pay for this Tollroad, pay for a South Shore expansion, pay a county income tax that will (by the way) remove the property tax cap so we will all be paying more there too.

Where will it end Doug? How much of your readers money is "fair game" for you?

  8. This is not an "expressway". It is a TOLLROAD. If you want to see how many trucks will be "siphoned off" the Borman, just look at the number of trucks that use the Indiana Toll Road. Very few. In this economy, most passenger vehicles will not want to pay the toll either and will stay on the Borman to save some money. The only plus side to building this is that we won't have to read any more editorials about it from The Times editorial writers...

  9. I see what's going on here. Nangle thinks that, if he beats his readers over the head long enough, eventually we'll cry uncle and give in. Keep your schemes to yourself Bill. None of your readers were born yesterday.

  10. This road is all about easy access to the Peotone airport. I can't believe that Illinois is suckering Indiana politicians into supporting this. One might wonder what is in it for anyone in Indiana to support this...
