Here it goes again. People are bashing the apartments being built in Valpo. Why bash the starter homes people want to move to after they're tired of living with Mom and Dad or have to live somewhere if their house is foreclosed or whatever the issues with their houses are?

There are too many teams in the Big 10. He11, I was not happy when Penn State joined the Big 10. I just prefer the original Big 10. Now with Rutgers and Maryland, there are now 14 teams in the Big 10.

I say the police should patrol the Mansards 24/7 as long as they exist. They still can't physically stop ALL the crime.

What the he11 has Southlake Mall comes to??? A young perp yelled profanities at the police just because his friend got arrested for shop lifting. It is totally wrong to shop lift in the first place. Hello! It is also wrong to yell profanities at the police no matter how big jerks they may be.

What about Century Mall? Anyone remember that place?

Yes Purdue Boiler, I remembered Century Mall. It had about as many stores as the old Woodmar Mall had, but it was bigger in square footage. Being under a mile down the road from Southlake, and the big box stores are the reasons why Century shutdown.

River Oaks, Woodmar Mall, and Shakey's were some of my hangouts in my youth years. Now River Oaks is another Dixie Square, and now Southlake Mall is getting there. I remembered when the Mansards were awesome "starter homes." Now they are the worst type of projects outside Hammond, EC, Gary, and Merrillville. And FYI people, Shakey's shutdown years ago, and the place is now a Texas Coral.
