  1. A number of people still need property tax BILL relief. The "Adjustment to Cap Due to Voter-Approved Projects And Charges" line item puts many property tax bills way over 1% of the assessed home value. Why not use the COIT for that, if we need a COIT at all?

  2. I don't think the IMS deserves $100M in state money.

    Given our local track record, I know our local officials can't be trusted with $30M either. (How'd that first Cline Ave work out for us?)

    At the end of the article Ross seems to justify the IMS expenditure as long as NWI gets a cut of the take for Cline.

    Both are bad ideas.

  3. Add up all the Federal State and Local money --millions if not billions of taxpayer dollars--given to our Northwest Indiana region stewards (ie politicians) over the last quarter century. Look around to see how little we have to show for it.

  6. Privatize ambulance services. Provide no health insurance--force ALL government employees into that oh, so wonderful (sarcasm intended) obamacare as the fine for not providing health insurance is much cheaper than the cost of the insurance itself. Implement Kernan Sheppard reforms. Increase the "efforts" into investigating, charging and convicting those involved in public official corruption.

  7. Federal judgeship remark reminds me of NWI's former US Atty. Joe VanBokkellen. Although Judge Joe stayed relentless in his fight against the corrupt pols.

    God I miss JVB's Friday press conferences.

    .....and I'm certainly not convinced a convicted Menard's shopper and an alleged stealer of poor kids' money is all there is to NWI public official corruption, Mr. Capp.
