  1. A very sad sign of the economic times. We have a family member in their mid 50's who is losing his job at Sears. His wife has not been able to find a job since her employer closed, and at his age, him finding another one, will be next to impossible.
We frequently go to the Sears store in River Oaks. Traveling all the way to Hobart to the nearest Sears, is definately going to be a pain.

  2. Muslims and other select groups, like some unions and many politicians, are exempt from obamacare. If this obamacare is good for the regular people, why shouldn't it be good for all?
That being said, I am fed up with this administrations war on my Faith, my religious freedom, my Constitutional rights. I applaud the stand these ministers have taken, but I wish that it had not taken them so long to take this stand.
I am a mother of 3, one of whom was an adopted special needs child. She is grown up and married, and a mother herself. I am a grandmother of five. If my adopted daughters birth mother had not chosen life, I would not have the joy of two of my precious grandchildren in my life.
Abortion is murder. Why should an innocent child be given the death penalty for the irresponsibility of the parents? Our government sanctions the legal murder of innocent babies. Now, they want everybody, with the exemption of select groups, to pay for the babies executions. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone opposed to this assault on our freedom, no matter what their religious affiliation or non-affiliation may be, to fight this blatant attack on our Constitutional rights.

  3. Speculation is that the Famous Taco owner will be given the seat. This person owns one heck of a lot of property all over Hammond, and various businesses also, in addition to the famous eatery.

  4. So, we might get a dozen jobs out of this, total. 3 full time, 2 part time, and a few in the railyard and warehouse. $1 million per job. Ridiculous.

  6. The money wasted on these cameras could probably put a couple more cops on the street. I want a cop, not a stupid camera that might only be good for after the fact.

  7. My car has got the bad gas too. My engine light has been going on and off. My car is stalling and lagging. My mechanic told me to try an additive, C? to try to clear it up. If this doesn't work, it will have to go in the shop. I do not have a receipt for the gas, as I paid $20 in cash. So, if my car is messed up, I have no recourse. FTR, my car is old and has 86,000 miles on it, but was mechanically perfect. I faithfully, over the years, have got the oil changed every 3,000 miles, tune-ups, and a general overall mechanical check over, twice a year, to nip any potential problems in the bud. Now, because of incompetance from a British owned gas company, my car is messed up. Thanks alot, BP.

  8. Maybe now the Educators of the Hammond children can get some REAL representation. Why did it take major heat from downstate, to make the SCH rectify this?

  9. Politics, Lake County style. The usual "friends and family plan".
You cannot serve 2 masters, as one will be shortchanged, IMO. How in the heck can O'Rourke be unbiased, and truly represent the Teachers, when he is paid by the Administration? He can't. He is not about to bite the hand that feeds him. This has been going on for many years, and it is way past time for the State to look into this. O'Rourke should have been paid ONLY through the Union dues.

  10. Raymond fletcher was right. Once a vote is cast, just because you don't like the results, doesn't mean that you keep on doing a re-vote until you get the desired tally. This is disgusting.
To top it off, they are trying to wiggle their way out of a court order. The RBA needs to be disbanded. What a waste of the taxpayers money.
