  4. Raising revenue by closing loopholes and limiting deductions is part of what's been offered before. Democrat's need to learn you can't spend your way to prosperity. Growing revenue from the tax base comes from a healthy economy with people working and spending money. This form of revenue coming into the treasury is often forgotten by democrats when they try to calculate a budget plan. Raising taxes will stifle both hiring and consumer spending. A realistic approach to spending cuts and tax reform is what is needed quickly.
