You don't know any more than any of us and you can't say for sure the Dad did anything. Stop being so friggin paranoid it's very unbecoming.
The man loves his son, it's called unconditional love, and many parents suffer from it. I say suffer because it feels like suffering sometimes, especially when our children don't turn out they way we were hoping. American prisons are full of people who are still loved by moms and dads and sisters and brothers, daughters and sons. I mean really, stop faulting the Father for what the son did. He's guilty of loving his son, that is ALL we know for sure right now. We don't have any real evidence that the Dad helped cover anything up. Now please people just stop this craziness. People are suffering.
Human beings are suffering for totally different reasons but it's still suffering.
Have some compassion. Have a little empathy. Don't be so filled with such hate.
You are acting like a paranoid scitzo ...relax and calm down.
He's been a productive member of society for quite some time. He will continue to love his son, no matter what, like it or not.
Why don't you run along go play tag or barbies with your friends now.
And let me tell you that was the toughest thing I have ever done in my life. I cried 24/7 for months and all I could think of is the fear of him going to the big house. The prison. Oh my god, not my little boy. I wanted to take it all back and get him out of jail. They don't know him, he's not a bad person he was the cutest sweetest little boy. I mean it was so heartbreaking as a parent to watch this happening to the only person you love more than you love yourself.
But, I left him there. Refused to bail him out. I told him, you don't want to live the rules of society and live as an honest, good hard working man then this is where you will live, in this concrete cell for the rest of your life. It's your choice to make.
I don't know if I did the right thing. He is staying out of trouble and in an apprenticeship program and working hard. But will he harbor resentment towards me later in life for doing what I did? I guess time will tell. But, I don't care. I think I saved his life and I can finally breathe without feeling like someone sucker punched me in the gut a thousand times.
I'm not going to judge the McCowans for how they acted or didn't act. They obviously have been decent, law abiding citizens their entire lives and as far as I can tell they aren't scumbags. Did they raise their son right? Probably not. Did they make a ton of mistakes? I'm sure they did. They probably can't believe that their son is capable of killing anyone and without a confession or at least overwhelming evidence they are going to protect him, just like any loving parent would.
My heart breaks for the Bach's. That beautiful girl shot down before her life really began. But my heart also breaks for the McCowans. Their son is going to rot in a prison cell, probably raped and maybe even killed by other murderous thugs and oh my god. The heartbreak all around for both of these families.
I had my son arrested for petty crimes but I would have fought the devil to keep him out of the prisons. Think about your babies ..think long and hard before you judge other people.
The simple truth, there is testimony from a piece of garbage that the Dad disposed of the cell phone...not credible in the least. I will not hang that man on that evidence.
Porter Superior Court Judge Roger Bradford sentenced Wade to 10 years, then added five years for the aggravating circumstance of Wade’s criminal history, but he also ordered the terms to be served concurrently and--in view of Wade’s cooperation in the McCowan trial--suspended seven years of the sentence, to be served on formal probation. Bradford also gave Wade credit for serving 975 days while awaiting disposition.
Brass tacks: Wade is on the hook for less than three years and could be released in half that time.
Wade testified at the McCowan trial that no promises or representations had been made to him in exchange for his cooperation.
2- B felonies and this scum can be out in less than 3 years? Why aren't people more outraged at this? Each B felony punishable by 6-20 years! and this scumbag gets out in less than 3 and will only serve another year and a half! I mean really people? This scum with aggravating criminal history should have got the MAX in the first place but got 15 for both B felonies. ya know...omg I am so disgusted with the craziness of it all.
Seriously what is wrong with you people? I can't believe I am walking this earth with such hate filled souls.
This man might be guilty of being ridiculously stupid by leaving a gun under a couch. He might be guilty of loving his son so much that he can't possibly think his son is guilty of this crime. But we don't know for sure what happened because there was a lack of evidence all around. He's probably guilty of being an A-hole and a lot of other things but there is not enough evidence to prove he helped his son cover up this crime.
It's over. It's time to move on and focus on what's good in your lives. ALL of the McCowans lives are forever ruined in more ways than one and that's gonna have to be good enough for you people.
