- First of all, before you make stupid comments about things you know nothing about, make sure you have the right person. The person in Valpo who you are slamming, owns the kennel but is not even the same "Blythe " that testified! And there was no "animal hoarding." His normally impeccable kennel got dirty during a busy time, he cleaned it up, and the charges were dropped. This was all in the the paper. I do not know him personally but work at a place where he has done a lot of charity work and can always be counted on to help a person in need. Get your facts straight.

- As a community member who watched this board all year and saw the effect their decisions had on our schools, I can agree with your point of needing educators on our board. Mr Knauff is an educator. He has spent years dealing with children, parents and teachers with intelligence and integrity. He will also deal with the board in that same manner, which must be why they chose him. I must respectfully disagree with Brigid bringing a lot to the board. SHE BROUGHT MELIN! That board picked him over Rob Hayworth and then sat there when Bob Hayworth left while saying what a "shining star" he was. Any person who spent time with both of those men would have made a different choice and we would not be in this situation right now. She was part of the "We screwed up" group, and she was the only one up for re-appointment. One by one they will have to answer for the past mistakes. I don't know of any other person who made the kind of mistakes this board and Melin made, who would still have a job! While I again agree with needing women on the board, we need qualified women, not a woman who will stand up while peoples jobs are on the line and say how excited she is to see old friends at the school board meeting. It is a time for change and healing and I can think of no better person to have on board for that process.
