If one was to research the history of Horizon Financial, it's likely, they would learn that the company is fiscally sound. From what I can see, the large majority of their public and private hospital clients are located outside NW Indiana. HFM could have easily built the headquarters in Illinois. With a higher tax rate, Illinois is extremely aggressive when it comes to attracting new business. An earlier post was correct, Ameriplex has fallen short of expectations. This is exactly the type of new construction ,that will attract more development. In fact, I read last week that Dawn Foods is building a new state of the art facility in Ameriplex. Healthy business parks attract other uses, such as grocers and retailers. Empty business parks are a sign that something is wrong with the area.
