- I'm from the West Coast, where it's not uncommon to sit in the waiting room for 8 hours before getting a bed in the ER. I brought my son to Methodist just recently, and we were in and out in just over an hour, including testing, x-rays, and the consult with the ER physician. Construction was still ongoing, but the department was clean, and everyone was wonderful to us. Hopefully we don't need to be seen in the ER again any time soon, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Sounds like things have changed a lot since some of you were seen last. Oh, and while I was there the Director of the ER came by to check on us, and said that a trauma program is actually in the works already.
