  1. I assume the accident occurred at 545AM or earlier. If this is not correct, then the SS should reply. Assuming the accident occurred at that time, why did it take over 1 hour to announce the backup plan that trains were running from East Chicago. If a train derails, I would think that the SS would know immediately that morning rush hour service would be cancelled from east of Gary?

    I really appreciated this morning seeing the billboard along 80/94 from the South Shore.

  2. Do they really know why ridership is down? If they haven't done surveys of riders in over 10 years how do they really know? Could cost and service be factors? Maybe it has some to do withe poor condition of many of the seats.

    I think it would be good idea if management would go out on the platforms and actually meet the paying customers and maybe even ride the train and speak with customers. Has this ever been done?

  5. I see nothing on the NICTD website regarding the attack. Why? Since there is board meeting this week, one of the board members should question management why this information is not on the website.

    A board member could also ask if the following (from the NICTD website) is true.

  6. I agree My Opinion65. If you go the NICTD website, you can get the number of the NICTD as well as the numbers of the board of trustees (some of them are elected officials). On the NICTD website, they say that they welcome your feedback .

  7. I was not on the train that Mykel2012 was on so I don't know if it was true. If Mykel2012 is not correct, then the South Shore should reply to that comment and set the record straight.

  8. to the person who said the South Shore delays were reported on the radio. That is true but here is story. At 638 at the end of the AM780 traffic report, they said there was no "reported" delays on Metra, South Shore, etc. I called the radio station and within 5 minutes that station reported the delay. So, the first report on that station was approximately 645 when some trains were almost 45 minutes late.

  9. I have not seen any comment by Family Express. I was under the assumption that they sold some of this gas.

    If Family Express did sell some of the gas, what is the difference between 87 octane gas at BP and Family Express. The oil companies always tell you that their gas is better than the competition but if they sell the same gas than the only difference is the price.
