- Having a guardrail on Airport Rd. to keep cars from going into the ditch is not a good idea. Someone hits the guardrail and bounces off into an on coming car. Would not want to be in that car. Maybe if the high school students would slow down it would help. The problem with Lenburg Road curve, is drivers are taking the curve too fast. All they have to do is slow down so they can stay on the road. Maybe a couple of signs indicating a sharp curve coming, alot cheaper.

- Nice chunk of money the city was missing. Another loop hole that is going to be closed. Bet there is more low-lying fruit ( cash ) to be found in Portage.

- Put them in a substance abuse program and keep them in school. The parents also somehow have to be involved, schools can't do everything.

- Children that are taking drugs, need money to buy the drugs. How do they get the money if they are not working. Steal, commit a crime to get money to support their habit. What are they going to do after high school and college and apply for a job that requires a drug test to be employed. There isn't anything wrong with drug testing. Maybe it will stop the the use of illegal drugs in this country. One of the worst things a person can do, is be high of some illegal drug while driving and kill some innocent person, then it is to late.

- The taxpayers dollars that are paying for the Oprisko's family medical insurance should be spent on the students of the Portage Township Schools. Mark Oprisko talks out of both sides of his mouth. Complains about the tax dollars spent on the newsletter, but it is OK to take taxes dollars from the School System to pay his medical insurance. There is nothing in the State of Indiana codes that says that school board members get medical insurance, It is up to the school system if they want school board member to have free insurance.

- Get with the program. Grass clippings do not belong in the land fill. Like the newsletter stated, grass clippings are mostly water. Reducing the tonnage going to the land fill is a big savings to the city. So what if the city can collect the trash in 4 days instead of 5 days. Now maybe on the fifth day they can do some much needed maintenance on their equipment.

- There is nothing wrong with the newsletter, I think it is great. So what if the Mayor's Facebook info is in the newsletter, I looked at his Facebook page and saw nothing wrong with it, had some good info. Mark Oprisko, all I see is you complaining, what good things have you done to improve Portage, I can't name one.
