I do not want to get into the gun debate; however, the convicted felon had known personality & anger issues & therefore, should never have had access to guns. His father was a police officer & his guns should have been locked appropriately. So, how about as a country we start w/ angry, young men & guns are a recipe for disaster & need to be monitored.
Next, the victim was a young, intelligent, fun, beautiful & trusting person. And, I hope the community supports the fundraiser being held in her honor.

Apparently, in middle school, Amanda & one of her best friends raised money for “The Caring Place.” So, Amanda was aware of some of the red flags regarding dating abuse; however, she had a trusting heart & never in a million years thought of the evil there.
I do not have the answers but somehow young people need to realize when someone’s words or behavior cross the line between acceptable & psychotic. It gets down to understanding what is proper & healthy behavior & what is pathological; but even healthcare experts have trouble with that. There were signs the convicted felon was losing it but they were ignored by people around him & then it was too late.
Young people need to understand, if there is constant drama w/ one of your friends in your life – you have a big problem. Talk to a professional about it & get away.
And, as far as you & your inventory of unregistered guns you are rather irresponsible & another one not doing things according to the book. I guess I was putting persons in law enforcement & the military as having more respect for guns & the law then the common man. Sorry, that I thought anyone from that clan had any concept of respect for protocol. Now, I realize I am speaking to people who have no comprehension of what respect is.
"Would you support "Nancy's Law"? The "Nancy" would refer to Nancy Lanza, whose son used firearms she kept at their house to go on a shooting spree at a Connecticut elementary school last December."
"Basically, a gun owner could be prosecuted for third-degree murder (manslaughter) if someone else commits a murder with their gun. The state would have to prove that the gun owner's negligence contributed to the murderer being able to obtain the weapon. Examples of negligence might be failure to use a trigger lock, leaving the gun in an inappropriate place such as in open sight in one's home or in an unlocked car."
The highly accessible & lost 38 caliber handgun really is not something to be taken lightly. A young girl was brutally murdered & it is highly probable the accessibility of Elliott McCowan's loaded 38 - that he allegedly kept under the couch is the weapon used to kill her. In addition, he kept a large number of other guns in his home that the convicted felon could access. Testimony in the trial stated the felon/232002 had been seen banishing a semi-automatic handgun & making threats. This is a person who had anger issues & other anti-social behaviors (throwing girls down stairs, etc.). I digress by bringing up Nancy Lanza, the mother of the monster from the Sandy Hook tragedy. Many people questioned whether, if she had not been murdered, she would have been charged with a form of manslaughter. I see many similarities between Ms. Lanza allowing her son to have guns, & the convicted felon's father (an officer of the law) allowing his son to have access to guns.
I wonder if the Bach's could sue Elliott McCowan; because without his guns, Amanda Bach would still be alive.
