  2. As a teacher, can I just ask that we stick to one system for a couple of years? The state and administrators are constantly making changes and it takes our focus away from the kids. Stop making us constantly jump through hoops.

  3. My supervisors at work refer to them as "undocumented." Now if these people have driver's licenses, they are going to have to make up another name. unlawful visitors? We see a lot of undocumented people at work and I don't most of them will trust getting a license. They have their own underground network for that kind of stuff.

  5. the really sad part is... this plan will appeal to the administration because young teachers are cheaper and with the high turn around (after they get fired for being ineffective) the school board will save a lot of money. The kids will have no consistancy and be in chaos. It takes a lot of new teachers a couple of years to develop classroom management skills. So sad.... and a very slimy thing to do to our children. Go Penrose!

  6. go glenda! put those dollars for training and supporting teachers in the public schools. there is no reason to keep spreading the funds so thinly between so many organizations. The new evaluation system will weed out the bad teachers. ALL kids deserve a good education, not just the ones whose parents can afford transportation to a private school and all the other side costs of private schools. Every student that we fail to help now will be a kid we have to support through our tax dollars when they are on welfare etc.

  8. I was upstairs at the mall in the center and I saw the two policemen and security guarding the area before the shot and they were quickly at the scene. Good job.
    Parents need to keep an eye on their kids until they are 18 or be held responsible for them. 12-16 is the most emotional time for kids and the easiest time for them to be recruited by gangs.
    I was also shocked to see so many people headed towards the action, instead of away from it. I was in my car in three minutes flat! I'd like to ask all my family not to give me anymore gift cards to stores in the mall please!
