- The problem with Social Security is not the people receiving it that paid into It nearly there whole life. The problem is those receiving SSI or Disability that are not entitled to it. I have a friend who works in a very low income high crime area. This area happends to be primarily a African American area. He is in the credit business. I am told that everyday people fill out credit applications that are young and in local colleges. These young people put down income from a part time job along with another $600 - $800 from SSI. I have a child in college and working part time with no SSI. Why do so many people in these comunities receive these hand outs? I believe if the fraudulent SSI and Disability claims are stopped it would solve a large portion of our spending problems. Stop the fraud! This includes people that receive a free lunch in school and lie on the application to get it. Just stop the hand outs. Now, I am for SSI and Disability for there original intended use, Not for cheats. Check everyone out that applied for a handout like SSI, Disability, Free lunch, and so on. If they lied to get it , FINE THEM!.
