I am sorry for all parties involved. As a lifelong resident, I know Shawn. HE had problems. Problems, that MOST OF THE PEOPLE that are posting have as well. The sad part is.. no one was there. not one of us. So we will never know the real truth. For someone to have done something so vicious, there had to be a reason. What provoked that kind of rage. I know Shawn, before he was messed up on all the drugs Whiting is full of, he was an amazing man. He is smart, funny, and kind. The stuff he was taking created the man you are all looking at, however... dont judge so quick peeps.. most of you sit in the bar drinking all night, smoking some weed later on... it takes one day.. one stupid day of drinking too much, popping too much, smoking too much, and when you wake up from your haze, maybe you will be on the front page of the newspaper. I pray the families get through this really tough time. I pray they somehow find a place to find peace.. and if they cannot.. well, God be with all of them.. but for you talkers on here... wake up.. one day.. it could be u.. so stop throwing stones at glass windows...

this city is such a joke.. guess they forgot there was music coming from both corners of 175th and calumet... not to mention, the girls were in full clothing... guess they should have put gang bangers and drug dealers on the corner, board up a few windows, and then, they would have given people the correct VIEW of hammond..

ps.. i do know they did have a license. it is a state issued license.. look it up dumb people.. look it up.. not a city license... maybe mayor mcdermott should take some of that money that he is OBVIOUSLY TAKING from Kaplan (after all his head quarters are in his building) and give that money to the insurance companies for his police officers and fireman.. first.. i live in hammond.. all of my life.. 2nd. not a huge fan of hpd as it is as corrupt as you get.. i think it actually beats chicago.. although it has all of you "superheros" helping to preserve its reputation.. common sense.. judge steals all kinds of cash, yet is RE-ELECTED... and not to mention all of the other stuff going on.. so.. for all of the hpd cops on here, or their relatives, YOUR OFFICER WAS WRONG. he shot the dog in the back. with a FLASHLIGHT, SINCE THAT IS WHAT THEY CLAIM THE OFFICER WAS BARING... SO.. keep talking all of you very, very bored little people... what a joke this city is.... major joke... if the dog were to have been an "officer", the people that shot it would have been arrested and accused of murdering an officer of the law.. if they were white, we would be saying that a member of their family was killed.. grow up people.. stop bending the rules to fit your needs.. what is right is right. they were in their own garage. on thier own PRIVATE PROPERTY.. think of this as if this was your family this happened to. stop using ur politics you shallow little people.. this is not about the city of hammond's pain. it is about the pain of a family.. a real family. that had a home, and a life, with 4 kids.. the dad was in the picture, he was a good man, with his family, and unfortunately, they have had a bad month.. you people on here are a joke.. with apparently no lives.

All i can say is.. what a joke, all of you are.
This family barely made it out of their home alive. They have nothing left. Their children lost their home, their clothing, their SHOES FOR GOD'S SAKE. When will all of you "perfect people" of NWI, that live in your LARGE, GLASS HOMES, get off of NWI TImes comments and stop being so overly nice to people that have truly had a loss in their lives. You guys all make me sick to my stomach to know you are even human.
