- Considering the ability of most of the people here, we have all had some good or decent teachers as we can communicate. As for your examples, picking one or two stories does not denote what most teachers are doing in a classroom, especially the pop tart story as administrators are responsible for expulsions. In addition, companies place disclaimers on everything to lower their ability to be sued. There is responsibility and negligence. This is why companies place warnings like, "wet floor" or people place signs like, " Warning, Dog." If the dog bites, the owner is still responsible but not negligent, which is where big money comes from. But according to you, teachers promote law suit, pop tart expelling, and Jesus hating propaganda. As far as Jesus attackers, why don't we put the blame on the liberal professors. I have had quite a few attack my faith or better yet, where did this happen? Many of our for choice, school voucher programs are run by a man named Gullen, who is an exiled Muslim, teaching the Muslim faith on your tax dollars, especially in Indy, but because ole Mitch Daniels started this, it is okay. He believes in Jesus and is a Republican, right? I guess you didn't know his family is also from the Middle East. His family is from Syria but that is the teachers fault too, huh?

- That was a very good read and exactly what was done in Indiana. My understanding is that legislatures are also worried because teachers are leaving the profession in record numbers. Those that can retire, are, and the younger ones are finding different jobs that pay better.

- Once again, someone who thinks they are an expert but knows little about the profession. The average starting salary for a teacher is about 30k. It takes 20 years to make that much in Indiana and before you get all Googley, remember coaches, etc are teachers too and their salaries inflate the average. And as far as your one specific example, how do you know the students relate to her? They may, but why would you endorse the average college student, who couldn't find a job, taking a job in education around children who do not have the passion of your friend? Those people will leave, quit, repeat throughout the year. Indiana was 17th in education about 5 years ago. Now, we are in the 40s catching up with the South.
