Thank you voiceofreason for explaining this for the few below. Indiana is working on a General Education Core 30.

PNC is funded separately from Purdue in the state budget. The only benefit Purdue as a system would get by closing PNC is the cost of salary and benefits.

PNC is not going to close.

#1 highest demographic of students that attend PNC are from Porter County, #1 city that has students attending PNC-Valparaiso. With the rising cost of education, students are staying home and commuting because they want to get out of school with less debt.

There are lots of other ways that Purdue could be more profitable rather than closing campuses...

@millerbeach those questions weren't "softball" at all. These were kids that are 18-24 years old and sought out the Governor to come to the PNC campus and participate in a student led discussion. These were topics that meant something to those students. It was very brave and courageous of them to seek him out.
