- That is a pretty sad percentage for what I am sure was a huge expense with OT for regular and reserve officers. All of the arrests seem to be pretty low level stuff, so it is not like these folks were "armed and dangerous". Would seem to have been a huge waste of taxpayer money.

- They should be thankful that someone actually turned in the bag instead of worrying where they turned it in! Whoever put it in the drop box did the right thing, just at the wrong place. Since it was during the Christmas holidays, they probably dropped it close to where they found it. The issue about who found it is much less important than who LOST it!

- Continuing to bury trash is just a bad idea! Our water table here is far to close to the surface and it is time for waste haulers to stop lying about it and find alternate means of disposal. A HUGE help would be if we stopped taking trash from other States! Let them handle their OWN trash and keep it on their property. Let them destroy their own water tables and property values! I am sick of Indiana being considered one giant DUMP for Chicago! Until something is done to stop it, the all mighty dollar is all that matters. I do not see the CEOs of these giant waste companies living any where NEAR the dumps they say are not a problem....if they want to live in trash and filth let them put it in their backyard instead of covering the rest of us with this filth so THEY can live far away from them. Let them pollute their own environment instead of someone else's!

- Wow, if Obama would get off his tail and de-criminalize marijuana would could cut this section of the paper in HALF! We do know it will have to be Obama that does it, because all those backward politicians in Indianapolis are still watching "Reefer Madness" and thinking it is a real life documentary!

- Finding decent home health care is incredibly difficult. There needs to be a listing of not only the agencies, but of each care takers as an individual. If someone is not getting hurt, they are being stolen from! I find it very sad that this incident was so horrible, but wonder why they family did not take over control of care sooner. The article lists that there were 3 other incidents before this one! I know we are very busy with our lives, but if your are in this type of position where you are responsible for someone disabled....an adult like this or even your own aging parents...them being able to "live in their own home" is NOT a good idea! Yes, you are paying for 24 hour care, but someone should ALWAYS be watching the "caretakers". There is no other way to assure that your family is being cared for properly.

- All these costs for trips made for international reasons are made up....NO ONE can calculate the real costs because the "plans" are all secret for security reasons. It is not until well AFTER (as in the end of year budget analysis) that the real costs are known. I doubt that it is cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but some of the ridiculous numbers being thrown out by people like Michele Bauchman are totally imaginary. BTW, the US taxpayers do NOT pay $500,000 for a professional "dog walker" for the Obama's dog...there is NO dog walker at all! She flat out made it up! With our elected officials, you cannot trust a single thing that comes out of their mouthes, yet we keep voting in these same liars and con artists. The definition of insanity is "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." Think about it the next time you head to the polls!

- It sounds like the guy is a jerk. I have to reserve judgement however, since the article doesn't give any real information. It is in the interests of the paper to "sensationalize" everything, even if it is not really the truth, and leave out information which would possibly cut down on the drama value of the article.

- What a joke....like this guy give's a rat's behind what he did or who he may have hurt. For cripes sake he is friggin SMILING in his mug shot! The cretin knows that nothing is going to happen to him. I am sure he sees absolutely nothing wrong with taking money from his grandfather....probably figures he has a right to it since his grandpa is just lingering around and when the old guy finally kicks off it will belong to him any way. I hope the Grandpa sees the light and tries to teach this kid something while he still can! Don't bail him out, demand restitution, and then leave EVERYTHING to charity!
