  1. Okay I won't disagree that there are some brilliant scams. However, and a big however, it takes a special person to fall for this type of phone call.

Although, who could understand someone from a call center in India providing all of the wiring instructions. I hope she misheard it all and sent it to someone else...

  2. Do some research, in the end the cost to taxpayers is more for those on death row than inmates serving a life sentence.

  3. The lowest school system in NWI? Hardly true. But entertaining.

But what an idiot. Aren't these normally scams that 88 yr olds fall for??

  4. Odd, my home is in St John Twp, in Schererville, and my taxes aren't as much as you claim they are. Your "cost" isn't with exemptions, no way. That "math" would kind of go against the idea of the 1% cap too....

Oh well. Either way I wouldn't trade it for IL taxes. I'm also not interested in living in Porter Co for numerous reasons.

  5. When is this story from?? The Frey brothers don't even own the theater anymore. Didn't this story run before they sold it?

  6. Not defending NICTD, EC, or the criminal, but how did the criminal know which car belonged to the victim? He robs the guy in the bathroom, hops in his super common model Accord, & drives off?

  7. Here's what I'm missing.... If these religious "leaders" are so great at what they do why haven't they converted everyone to believe like them that things like birth control are evil?
I think rather than dabbling in employing people, whether at schools, hospitals, etc., these church leaders should try harder to convince people these things are evil. But when you choose to employ those who do not share the same faith as you, you indirectly agree to accept their ways of life.
I say do your job & all of these horrible contraceptives & things won't be needed. While you're at it make people live a more healthy lifestyle in general, because I'm sick of my insurance having to cover cholesterol meds, diabetes meds, bypass surgery, etc. I say celery sticks, condoms, & treadmills for everyone!

  8. Your problem was trying to catch the 7:20 train. If you had been at the station early enough to catch the train that leaves at 7:07 you would have only been 2mins late into Millennium. You snooze you lose?

  9. Based on how often I hear about Metra delays on the radio I think I'll take the bizarre, random, rare South Shore delays.

  10. Well unlike you, I'm happy to be employed by a company that provides me with a pension. Neither my husband or I have ever been employed by a government agency, yet we bot have pensions and 401k accounts. That way I can be in charge of what I put into my retirement fund and I still have a pension. Ah back to the day when employers helped take responsibility for their employees retirements. Maybe if more people could retire they wouldn't still be working at 70 years old. No doubt more recent college grads could find jobs. But since so many people have to rely upon their own investments, or worse yet the 401k their employers chose with what may or may not be good funds, many people are forced to work well past retirement age.

Oh and last I checked IN's pensions are funded in the same way that IL's are. For instance, look into Lake Co Gov't employee pensions sometime.
