Live in CL also and my property was divided like this and the county had ripped me off since 2009 and they are aware most of CL residents are being ripped off and they don't care!!!Residents of CL check your assessments!

- Live in Hanover Township and taxes have already doubled from the cost of this school. You would think they made it out of gold! Now this contractor keeps adding things to the cost. In my opionon, this was there mistake and they should eat it, not the taxpayers!!!

- If you're house sits on more than 1 parcel, make sure the county is giving you the whole deduction for the new supplemental standard deduction they implemented in 2009. Live in Cedar Lake and most homes sit on 2 parcels. County has been ripping me off since 2009 and many others. They tell me at assesors office that this is up to the property owner to correct and there is no recourse! How can an assessor assess your property and not tell your house is on 2 parcels? They sure seen my shed that sits on these 2 parcels? To figure your deduction, take your whole assessed value minus the homestead credit (45,000.00) X 35%.. Amazing county is aware of this and is ripping off so many people!!!

- Be sure to check info on your property with assessors office. Since 2009, the county has been overcharging me on my taxes when the county implemented the supplemental standard deduction, they failed to include both lots my house was on and no recourse to get overpayment back! BEWARE!!!
