O pportunity Enterprises MISSION: Opportunity Enterprises works to maximize self-sufficiency and enrich the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. ABOUT: For more than 50 years, Opportunity Enterprises has been serving individuals with disabilities in Northwest Indiana. With an amazing team of more than 350 employees serving nearly 1,000 people, we are committed to seeing each person reach their full potential through increased self-sufficiency and enriching opportunities. We accomplish this through educational, vocational, residential, and community integration programs designed around each client’s unique needs. DAY PROGRAMS: Five different curriculum-based programs provide groups of 4-10 people a variety of educational modules including art, music, technology, cooking, science, reading, listening, sensory stimulation, exercise, and socialization. There are also opportunities for integrated participation in community learning and events. RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS: Seven group homes provide an opportunity for independence with shared living, while other clients live in their own home and are provided support based on individual needs from 4-24 hours per day. TRANSPORTATION: With a fleet of 18 busses and vans, OE provides ondemand wheelchair-accessible transportation to clients and the community for work, medical appointments, and social activities. COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT: OE’s job coaching and placement division, JobSource connects clients and community businesses with employment opportunities. This division also provides programs to support the transition from school to work. BUSINESS SERVICES: OE offers a variety of divisions that provide both meaningful work for our clients, as well as needed services for businesses in the community.
