Crown Point is consistently voted the number one Best Place to Live in Northwest Indiana.
It’s no surprise to Mayor David Uran.
“It’s a team effort, as we strive to build a stronger community from within,” Uran says. “It takes a committed government, a solid school system, a vibrant business foundation, and an involved residential community.”
One of the main features that families look for when selecting a place to live is a highly rated school system, and Crown Point Community School Corporation has been named an Indiana Performance Qualified School District by the Indiana Department of Education for multiple years. The Indiana Department of Education gives the CPCSC and all ten schools an “A” for exemplary achievement.
“Our strong school system attracts people to Crown Point,” Uran says. “So does our low crime rate. People feel safe in our town, and the annual statistics bear that out.”
The North Street Corridor Plan is a prime example of the town’s forward thinking. It will support pedestrian access, provide linkage to the adjoining neighborhoods, and enhance environmental sustainability and design.
“We average 200 newly built homes every year,” Uran adds. “That tells you all you need to know about where people choose to live.”
