It is time to get up and get moving.
Though many people have experienced a drop in their physical activity levels during the pandemic, the COVID-19 vaccine has allowed people to start moving (safely!) once again. To get local residents inspired and active this summer, Midwest Express Clinic just announced its first-ever Step Up with Midwest Express Clinic challenge, which encourages people to step up, get moving and most importantly, keep their hearts healthy and strong.
Step up to enter
Here’s how it works: From June 14-July 23, participants are asked to set a daily step goal, then strive to reach that goal. And, once you start walking, start posting! Simply share any photo that tells your Step Up with Midwest Express Clinic challenge story and tag it using #StepUpMEC. (Think: Your running shoes, the view from your walk, your fitness watch — anything!)
Step up to win
Midwest Express Clinic will choose one winning photo per week, and share that photo and the winner’s story on its social channels. The best part? The weekly challenge winner will get to a pick a local charity and Midwest Express Clinic will donate $1,000 to that charity.
Now it is time to wipe the dust off those walking shoes, step up to the challenge and get that heart pumping!
Remember that while this is a challenge, the true competition is with yourself. Make sure your walking habits and goals are conducive to your body and your health. Set goals that are aimed at challenging your body and improving your health but stay safe. If you have preexisting health conditions, check with your doctor before making drastic changes to your physical activity level. Get your body moving, your heart pumping and remember to always stay hydrated.
