Lyvette Turk, community development programs manager with the City of East Chicago Department of Redevelopment received certification as a Housing Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council. Certification is a designation given to individuals who successfully complete an intensive housing development finance training series that is conducted by NDC.

Wittmer Farms of Kouts was honored as a Red Gold Master Grower at Red Gold's recent Grower's Banquet. Ron, Randy and Mark Wittmer received their fourth Master Grower Award. The award is given each year to Red Gold growers who have distinguished themselves by delivering quality production, professionalism, and industry leadership.

Nichole Odijk has been named director of communications for the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors (GNIAR).

Odijk, a native of Northwest Indiana, previously held positions with local radio stations and media outlets.

The Munster Chamber of Commerce recently honored Don Erminger with the 2009 Citizen of the Year award. Erminger served as manager of the Munster Strack & Van Til grocery store from 2001 until late last year when he was promoted and transferred to the Van Til store on 169th Street in Hammond, where he now serves as store operations manager.

Katherine Ntiamoah, of Munster, was selected as a 2009 Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellow following a nationwide contest. The Rangel Fellowship supports extraordinary individuals who want to pursue careers in the U.S. Foreign Service.

Lori Johns Diallo, M.P.H., has joined Planned Parenthood of Indiana as the new Northwest Indiana Educator. She has an extensive background in public health outreach.
