Cimcor named one of world's top cybersecurity companies

Robert E. Johnson III, president and CEO of Merrillville-based Cimcor Inc., shows a real-time map of cyberattacks happening around the world to members of the Lake County Advancement Committee last month at Teibel’s Restaurant in Schererville. The company has been ranked 75th worldwide in Cybersecurity Ventures’ ranking of the top 500 firms.

Merrillville-based Cimcor Inc. has been ranked 75th worldwide in Cybersecurity Ventures’ “Top 500 cybersecurity companies for 2016.”

The 19-year-old firm moved up after ranking 82nd the previous year.

“Cimcor is one of the longest standing companies in the top 100 of the Cybersecurity 500,” says Steve Morgan, founder and editor-in-chief at Cybersecurity Ventures. “Their flagship product Cimtrak has continued to be one of the market’s leading solutions for file integrity monitoring, change management, compliance, and auditing — some of the most daunting challenges for security and risk executives.”

Cimcor’s customers include NASA, the U.S. Air Force, Cornell University, Chicago Stock Exchange, and the Milwaukee Brewers. Cimcor develops software that gives organizations real-time information on any changes being made to their information technology infrastructure.

Cimcor foresees continued growth in 2017, said President and CEO Robert E. Johnson III.

“The year 2016 has shown us continued growth and advancement, from a business and technological perspective,” Johnson said. “The upward movement of 2016 parallels our consistent growth and dedication to this industry. In 2017, we will continue to implement our product road map aggressively and further pursue our mission to detect all change, whether authorized or unauthorized, throughout the enterprise.”

Cybersecurity Ventures is a leading researcher and publisher of reports covering global cybercrime damage projections, cybersecurity spending forecasts, and cybersecurity employment figures.
