Job seekers can get face time with employers at the upcoming Times Media Co. Spring Career Fair.

The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Stardust Event Center at Blue Chip Casino at 777 Blue Chip Drive in Michigan City. The Times has been having career fairs for more than a decade, and this is the first ever at the Michigan City casino.

Employers at the job fair will include Cintas, Franciscan Alliance, Horizon Bank, Help at Home, Aflac, All Phase Electric, Century 21 Affiliated, NIPSCO, FairLife, Franciscan Health, Franciscan Hospice, National Industrial Maintenance, Dungarvin, the United Way of Porter County, Dekker Vacuum, Aperion, Tradebe and the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Indiana.

Cintas is a national uniform rental and facilities services company with an office in Hammond that is looking for candidates with administrative, office, clerical and sales experience, Service Manager Tony Cocciolone said. The company is particularly interested in candidates with experience with business-to-business sales.

"We really look for people that fit into our culture," he said. "Our corporate offices in Ohio put out books about our corporate character, how we value honesty, integrity and professionalism in our partners."

The staffing agencies JMJ Talent and Staff Source will also be on hand at the Spring Career Fair to recruit candidates for temp positions. Attendees can additionally learn about educational opportunities at local colleges, including Purdue Northwest, DeVry, and Indiana Wesleyan.

Anyone who goes should bring several copies of their resumes and dress professionally.

Later in the year, The Times Media Co. will also host its annual Diversity Career Fair on June 22nd at Avalon Manor in Hobart and another job fair in September in Hammond.
