The iconic chain that specializes in Chicago-style stuffed deep dish pizza opened at the the old Boston's The Gourmet Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar spot at 625 U.S. 30 in Schererville. The sit-down restaurant southeast of U.S. 30 and Indianapolis Boulevard, one of the busiest intersections in Northwest Indiana, offers a dining room with a full bar, as well as deep-dish pizza to go.

It does not deliver.

The chain, which has 50 locations nationally, is often held up with Pequod's, Uno's, Gino's East, and Lou Malnati's as one of the best places for the deep-dish pizza that Chicago is known for. The Schererville Giordano's also offers pasta, sandwiches, salads and gluten-free options.

The menu includes fried mozzarella triangles, garlic Parmesan fries, calimari, and thin crust pizzas. The stuffed deep dish pizza it's best known for ranges in price from $6.95 for an individual 6-inch cheese pizza to $31.75 for a large "meat & more meat" that serves up to six people.

The pizzas — which take 45 minutes to an hour to prepare if deep-dish – can be customized with a wide array of ingredients, including artichokes, garlic broccoli, Giardiniera peppers, pesto chicken and anchovies.

Giordano's is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
