SCHERERVILLE | The next Lake County Advancement Committee monthly luncheon meeting focuses on how modern livestock production continues to influence Northwest Indiana’s economy.
The luncheon is set for noon Oct. 10 at Teibel’s Restaurant, 1775 U.S. 41.
Two recognized leaders in livestock production will present information about “Moos and Oinks Still Drive Northwest Indiana Economy” during the meeting.
Nick DeKryger serves as the director of finance and business analysis for the pig division at Belstra Milling Co. in DeMotte.
LuAnn Troxel has been a dairy farmer in LaPorte County for 31 years. She and her husband, veterinarian Dr. Tom Troxel, own Troxel Dairy, where 130 Holstein cows are milked twice daily as well as a large animal veterinary practice from their home.
