Ivy Tech Community College will host its first career fair for students and the general public on Nov. 9.
More than 25 employers, including Sullair, U.S. Steel, ArcelorMittal, Indiana Department of Corrections, Porter Regional Hospital and AccessAbilities will meet with job seekers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the campus at 3100 Ivy Tech Drive in Valparaiso.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer such an incredible line up of events for not only our students, but the public as well," said Abbey Durojaye, Ivy Tech Community College Valparaiso director of career development and employer engagement. "While the economy may be doing well, there are always ways to improve your life through additional education or a new career path."
The public can donate professional clothes for career fair goers at the Express Enrollment Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 through Nov. 7.

From 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Nov. 6, the Career Development Center will host a "career cafe" discussion about the job market, interviewing and workplace etiquette.
"We are opening our doors to the community to come explore the campus during the Career Fair," Valparaiso Chancellor Aco Sikoski said. "This event symbolizes what we are all about, empowering our students to achieve their career and transfer aspirations."
