Emily Sorokes has joined Ivy Tech Community College as the early college coach at the Michigan City campus. Sorokes previously was an academic advisor at Marquette High School in Michigan City, where she helped create the Early College Program. She has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and archaeological studies from SUNY-Potsdam College.
Kathy Kravitz has been appointed Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Education for Ivy Tech’s Valparaiso campus. Kravitz has been serving as interim dean and before that was mathematics program chair. In that role, she was instrumental in innovating department processes and streamlining the training process for adjunct instructors.
Jeff Marsee has been named vice president of business banking at Centier Bank, based out of the bank’s Highland business banking branch. Marsee is a graduate of Michigan State University and of the Illinois Banker’s Associates Future Leaders Alliance Institute. Marsee's appointment was announced by Centier President and CEO Michael Schrage.
Lakeside Wealth Management of Chesterton has restructured its management team. Lakeside President Tim Rice announced the appointments. Financial advisor Kelly Shikany has been named a co-director of the Wealth Management Division. She will lead Lakeside advisors' engagement and client relationship efforts. In-house counsel and retirement plan consultant Craig Draper will continue his role as in-house counsel and will also be the director of the Retirement Plan Division. He will lead the retirement plan advisors through best practices and current trends. Elizabeth Marks has shifted from director of operations to focus on mergers and acquisitions as director of strategic development. Michele Shifley, director of operations for the Retirement Plan Division, adds the role of director of operations for the Wealth Management Division. Amanda Herren has been named Lakeside’s new director of human resources and technology.
