Which Wich has opened a new sandwich shop in Schererville.

The new restaurant, which employs about 20 people, is at 1508 U.S. Highway 41 in a strip mall by Ciao Bella and Houlihan’s in Schererville. Franchisee Casey Erickson, who’s a Calumet City police officer, is looking to open at least one other location in Northwest Indiana.

Which Wich aspires to add about 35 more restaurants in the Chicago market, where a growing number of sandwich chains like Potbelly’s, Jersey Mikes and Firehouse Subs are competing.

The Dallas-based chain lets customers customize sandwiches with dozens of ingredients of their choosing, such as three different mustards and 17 different vegetables. Customers write orders on a sandwich bag, checking the boxes they want, such as which of the nine cheese options they’d prefer.

The Schererville Which Wich is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
