Indiana Governor-elect meets with Mittal in London

Indiana Lt. Governor and Governor-elect Eric Holcomb met with ArcelorMittal Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lakshmi Mittal on Tuesday in London as part of an economic development trip to the United Kingdom.

"The delegation discussed the company's operations in Indiana, the state's business climate and opportunities for future collaboration between the state and the private sector," spokeswoman Abby Gras said.

ArcelorMittal employs more than 9,000 workers in the Calumet Region, including at ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor, in East Chicago, ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor in Porter County, Gary Plate in Gary Works and I/N Tek and I/N Kote, in New Carlisle.

The Luxembourg-based company, which headquarters its U.S. operations in Chicago, shipped 84.6 million tons of steel in 2015, again making it the largest steelmaker in the world. It ranked 108th in the Fortune Global 500 ranking of the world's biggest companies.
