The Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier is among a top Chicago attraction.

Navy Pier is celebrating love's holiday with some special attractions and events this year.

Spinning with Singles, a Valentine's-themed mixer, will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14. The event will be held on the Centennial Wheel (Ferris Wheel) and aboard the Chicago Elite. Spinning with Singles is for singles ages 21 and older.

Feb. 14 also is National Ferris Wheel Day. Attendees may ride the 200-foot Centennial Wheel in groups and have the opportunity to meet new people at every rotation. There also will be a dockside reception on Chicago Elite.

Group dating on the wheel begins at 7 p.m. At the reception, there will be hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and music by DJ LoveBug. After the event, attendees will receive a package of special offers to Navy Pier, including discounts on dinner cruises, other dining discounts and more.

There also will be free rides on the Centennial Wheel, in honor of National Ferris Wheel Day, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 14. Guests must register online. Visit for more information.

Tickets now on sale for Billy Joel

Music fans can plan to take their sweethearts to piano man Billy Joel's next concert in Chicago. Tickets are currently on sale for his return to Chicago's Wrigley Field for the fifth year. He'll play the famed ball park on Sept. 7.

More performances for 'Blue Man Group'

The popular "Blue Man Group" production will have additional performances of the percussive show in the coming weeks.

Special performances will take place at 8 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14; and 2 and 5 p.m. on Presidents' Day, Feb. 19.
