If you're looking for dinner and a movie, get in line and get a ticket for the newest movie house on the Chicago entertainment scene.
AMC debuted its new Dine-In Theatres at Block 37 in Chicago last month. Relaxing, comfortable seats, hit movies and an eclectic menu star at the film venue.
"This is the only true Dine-In Theatre in Chicago," said Erin Gregory, manager of corporate communications for AMC. (There are other AMC Dine-In Theatres in the suburbs but none in the city itself.).
"Guests order at the push of a button and have the food brought to them," said Gregory, adding it makes it convenient for fans engrossed in a film to not have to go out to the counter and order.
Moviegoers will find the same menu at all the AMC Dine-In Theatres. Menu items include everything from what's called Snacks and Shares to Burgers, Bowls, Mac and Sweets.
Some favorites offered on the Snacks and Shares portion (all $8) are Wedge Lettuce Cups, Crab and Avocado Sushi Rolls, Buttermilk Biscuit Poppers and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts stand out for an addition of Parmesan cheese, chile salt and a house spice blend.
The Royal Burger ($12) is a house specialty and includes bacon, brie cheese, caramelized onions, baby arugula, sweet fig jam and royal sauce. If you like a touch of sweetness on your burger, this one's for you.
Other dishes include the Grilled Chicken Quinoa Bowl ($12 for a full order); Crispy Shrimp Basket ($16); and The Luxe Mac, ($12) featuring bacon, Fontina and Aged Jack cheese sauce, mushrooms and caramelized onions.
For dessert, try the cinnamon sugar Doughnuts ($8) or a Milkshake ($8). Shakes come in various flavors including S'mores and Salted Caramel.
AMC also has a kids menu. For more information, visit amctheatres.com.
