Various Region restaurants have appeared on the scene, changed menus, personnel or made renovations in the past year. Among the restaurants are The Majestic Chop House at Majestic Casino in Gary, The Eatery at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond and The Quest Eatery and Spirits in Schererville.
The Majestic Chop House, which opened last November, occupies the space that once was The Majestic Steak House. The restaurant highlights a menu filled with steaks, chops, seafood and other offerings.
A new menu was created for The Majestic Chop House. Its interior, which was entirely redone, bares no resemblance to the former restaurant, and boasts a modern look.
In addition to quality steaks and chops, guests often will find items such as king crab, Chilean sea bass, lobster tail, wild halibut and monkfish on the menu.
Horseshoe Casino's newest dining concept, The Eatery, opened in December.
The Eatery, a food hall concept, features four different restaurants: H Burger, starring an assortment of hamburgers and other burgers; 360 Pizza, offering creative brick oven pies; Fresh, which has deli meats, sandwiches, salads and wraps; and Cafe, highlighting Lavazza coffee, pastries and ice cream.
Eighteen thousand pounds of marble was used throughout the food hall and the "crown jewel" of The Eatery is a brick oven, which has 22,000 gold tiles adorning it. The Eatery is on the first floor of the casino.
The Quest Eatery and Spirits, on U.S. 30, was renovated in the fall of 2016. The entire restaurant was redone, from the bar and kitchen equipment to the tables, chairs and even the parking lot.
The Quest Eatery and Spirits, celebrating two decades in business, features homemade recipes from soups, salads, hefty burgers and sandwiches to ribs, chicken dishes, chops and more.
One of the newest items on the menu is a pizza pot pie. Among other menu items at The Quest are loaded tater tots, the cheese wheel appetizer, ahi tuna salad, the monster stuffed burger, stuffed meatball sandwich, veggie wrap and other dishes.
The Majestic Chop House will continue to offer seasonal menu changes and include new specials on the list. The Eatery also will focus on continuing to bring new dishes to its food hall. From time to time, various items are featured as specials. At The Quest, while many dishes have remained staples through the years, restaurant personnel plan to occasionally debut new items in the future, general manager Craig Carnagey said during a past interview.
"Our goal is to continue to bring good food and live music for people to listen to and that they enjoy dining here with their families," Carnagey said.
