Although these days professional wrestling typically brings to mind pay-per-view events on the TV screen, professional wrestling has its roots in the fair circuit. This year, Global Force Wrestling is bringing Porter County back to the roots of what made wrestling an all-American favorite with its uniquely thrilling blend of interactive wrestling at the Porter County Fair on Thursday, July 28.
Jeff Jarrett, co-founder and CEO of Global Force Wrestling, and some of GFW’s top talent are excited about their first fair event. “We want to meet the wrestling fans where they’re at,” Jarrett says. “There’s a lot of internal excitement about our upcoming Porter County Fair event.”
For Jarrett, wrestling has been a family tradition for more than 70 years. He says, “My grandma did everything in the wrestling business but wrestle. My father wrestled, and I’m in my 30th year in the wrestling business.”
Much like the Jarrett family’s tradition, wrestling provides family-friendly entertainment for multiple generations. “Wrestling is a unique form of entertainment because it’s typically a three-generational tradition,” Jarrett says. “Many people point to their grandparents as the reason they got hooked on wrestling.”
The Global Force Wrestling event starts at 7:30 p.m., but a VIP experience—which includes a meet-and-greet where fans can get their photos taken with the featured wrestlers, get autographs, and participate in a Q&A session with the wrestlers—is available for a small upgrade.
“We have a great lineup of top-notch wrestlers that we’re thrilled to bring to Porter County,” Jarrett says.
