Once again this year, all five nominees from the American Society of Cinematographers crossed over to earn Oscar nominations. Last year, "Lion" took the guild's top prize, but it was "La La Land" that won the Cinematography Oscar. The ASC hands out its awards tonight, and all eyes will be on Roger Deakins for "Blade Runner 2049." He has the most nominations in ASC history with 15, and three wins. But despite 13 prior Oscar nominations, including for legendary films like "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Fargo," he still hasn't won the big one. His competition this year likely comes from Hoyte Van Hoytema, who shot "Dunkirk" and got his first nomination.
