Paula Abdul

Fans of Paula Abdul had the chance to learn a bit more about the dancer/singer/TV host's life during her recent concert at Four Winds Casino.

Abdul recently brought her "Straight Up Paula!" tour to the Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Michigan.

The show proved heavy on dance numbers, which was appropriate for the former Los Angeles Lakers Girl and choreographer. Abdul's choreographed numbers were energetic and also starred a troupe of strong dancers backing her up.

Abdul's concert featured video segments and multi-media elements which told the story of her life from her humorous "multiple" auditions for a Lakers girl spot to becoming a Top 40 hit maker and "American Idol" judge.

Concert segments were a mix of humorous and biographical info as well as encouraging and poignant in segments where Abdul talked about her major health problems as she's dealt with chronic pain throughout her life.

Musical numbers included "Opposites Attract," "Rush Rush," "The Way That You Love Me," "Knocked Out," mega hit  "Straight Up," "Forever Your Girl" and others.

Fans also had an opportunity to take part in an audience participation number during the middle of the show as Abdul invited three women up to the stage to dance. They showcased various popular dance moves from the 1980s and fellow audience members voted on their favorites.

Abdul regularly addressed the crowd during the show and even came out into the audience twice. Abdul's tour will run through Nov. 17. For more information on the tour, visit paulaabdul.com. For more information on upcoming concerts at Four Winds Casino, visit fourwindscasino.com.
