Wild game gets the Italian touch during an upcoming dinner at Ciao Bella in Schererville.
The trattoria-style eatery will present its three-year anniversary "Wild Game Dinner" Nov. 13 at the restaurant, 1514 U.S. 41, Schererville.
Ciao Bella owner Joe Scalzo and executive chef Randy Berg plan to welcome guests with a big feast in celebration of the anniversary. Five courses featuring various wild game in appetizer, meat and pasta dishes will be served. Reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m.
Both Berg and Scalzo are huge proponents of blending interesting flavors and ingredients and this dinner will be no exception in the standout flavor department.

Mystery On The Menu
The Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana has a bit of fun and mayhem planned during "Murder Most Romantic," a murder mystery dinner set for 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the federation's community building, 585 Progress Ave., in Munster.
Performing will be the Murder Mystery Players, a national touring company, and the menu will be designed and executed by Chef Ken Shepherd. Tickets are $25. FYI: (219) 922-4024
Northwest Indiana Chefs To Meet
The American Culinary Federation's Chefs of Northwest Indiana will convene for their October meeting and dinner at 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Hobart Elks Lodge #1152, 3580 W. 61st St., Hobart.
Host for the monthly meeting will be Chef Elias Hanne of the Elks Lodge. Registration is at 4 p.m. with a holiday food show, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres presented from 4 to 6 p.m.
A marketing seminar on wait staff training will be held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. with dinner and meeting at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Reinhart Food Service LLC.
During the holiday food show, among products displayed will be Hormel Meats, Culinary Secrets Desserts, Sara Lee, Eagle Ridge Fresh Cut Steaks, Harvest Land Chicken and more.

Ivy Tech Community College, in conjunction with El Popular, will present a "Chorizo Contest," from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the school, 410 E. Columbus Drive.
