ST. JOHN — Surveillance images of a masked man who robbed a bank Monday in St. John have been released by authorities as they continue their search for a suspect.
Police released surveillance images Tuesday asking the public's help in identifying the bank robber and his vehicle. An image shows a head-on shot of the robber who is dressed in all black and appears to be holding a black bag with a White Sox logo on it.
The man's face is covered by white fabric and he is wearing white and blue gloves, the image shows.
At 9:20 a.m. Monday the man robbed the St. John branch of BMO Harris Bank at 9770 Wicker Ave. and made away with an undisclosed amount of cash, St. John Deputy Chief David Demeter said.
The man was described by police as white and between 6 feet, 2 inches and 6 feet, 6 inches tall with a thin build. Police said no weapon was displayed during the robbery.
The man left the scene in a black newer-model, four-door passenger car.
