CROWN POINT — A 69-year-old Highland man allegedly admitted to police he repeatedly sexually abused a girl beginning when she was 6 or 7 years old, according to recently filed court documents.

Alfred Wolfgram was charged Saturday in Lake Criminal Court with four counts of child molestation, two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of rape.

The girl reported to police Wolfgram began groping her when she was 6 or 7 years old, according to court records.

She said the abuse occurred in both Highland and Wisconsin. She said the family initially lived in an apartment in Highland, but moved in fall 2012 to the 3700 block of Boulevard Drive in Highland.

She said Wolfgram forced her to engage in sexual intercourse on several occasions while she lived on Boulevard Drive. She said Wolfgram, a truck driver, would abuse her while her mother was at work.

She said Wolfgram did not use protection during the sexual acts. She said the abuse ended shortly before she turned 16.

The girl said she did not report the abuse sooner because Wolfgram had a “short fuse” and owned guns.

Wolfgram allegedly admitted to police he abused and assaulted the girl, records state. He said he knew his actions were “wrong and illegal,” and he was relieved to admit to his wrongdoing.

Wolfgram is held without bond at Lake County Jail, court records state.

A court hearing has not been scheduled.
