HAMMOND — A federal court hearing for one of the men charged in a shooting last week that wounded an ATF agent has been continued.
Blake King, 19, of Chicago, briefly appeared in U.S. District Court on Wednesday with his attorney, Matthew Soliday.
U.S. District Magistrate Judge Andrew Rodovich granted Soliday’s request to postpone King’s hearing until 1 p.m. June 21.
King is one of four men accused of being involved in a gun buy where undercover agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were ambushed June 7 in Gary.
Bernard Graham, 25, of Calumet City, Illinois, is scheduled to appear in federal court Friday.
Raymon Truitt II, 28, died in the shootout.
A fourth individual, Leondre Smith, 29, of Dolton, Illinois, was charged Friday in Lake Criminal Court.
King is charged in federal court with attempting to kill the ATF agent with a deadly weapon. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
