CROWN POINT — A 64-year-old man is charged with sexually assaulting a girl beginning when she was 8 years old at his residence in Lake Station.
Stanley C. Passaloukos was charged Saturday in Lake Criminal Court with child molesting, a Class A felony, and sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 4 felony.
Authorities learned Friday a 16-year-old girl told her friend's mother she was sexually assaulted by Passaloukos, court records state. The girl sent the woman a picture of a marking on her breast she claimed was caused by Passaloukos.
The girl said in a police interview Passaloukos, a family acquaintance, began sexually assaulting her when she was 8 years old. She said the abuse happened whenever she stayed at a relative's home.
She said she briefly moved with her mother to another town, but when she returned to the area at age 11, Passaloukos again began assaulting her. She said she began living with the relative in July 2017, and Passaloukos would sexually assault her every night.
She said Passaloukos took a nude photograph of her sometime between July and August. She told her friend's mother earlier this month about the abuse. She also said she was concerned she might be pregnant.
Passaloukos denied he sexually assaulted the girl in an interview with police. He claimed he could not have children for several years due to an unspecified operation.
Passaloukos is jailed without bond, according to court records.
