Man found shot to death in Miller

GARY — A man was found shot to death Monday night in Gary's lakefront Miller neighborhood.

The man, who has yet to be identified, was found dead at 8:45 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of County Line Road, which is near the high-rise Miller Village Apartments by West Beach and the Porter County border.

The Lake County coroner's office said the cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide. The victim was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. Monday, about an hour after the coroner's office was first dispatched to the scene.

The victim was described as a black male of an unknown age and address. No other information was immediately available.

Assisting agencies included the Gary Police Department, the Gary Fire Department, Lake County Crime Scene Investigations and the Lake County Metro Homicide Unit.
