CROWN POINT — A man was injured Sunday when a woman he met on a dating site initially refused to get out of his car and then sped off as he held on to the driver's side door, court records allege.

Jill D. Deluna, 53, of Griffith, was charged Tuesday with felony counts of robbery resulting in bodily injury and auto theft. An arrest warrant was issued.

The man suffered a cut to his elbow and scrapes and bruising to his head, arms and legs. He also may have broken ribs and a broken finger, Lake Criminal Court records state.

The man told police he met Deluna on a dating site and attempted to drop her off Sunday afternoon at a relative's home in the 8000 block of Robertson Place in Highland.

Deluna refused to get out, so the man exited the car and began to walk around to the passenger side, court records allege. Deluna allegedly jumped into the driver's seat, and the man went back to that side and opened the door.

The man continued to hold the door as Deluna drove off, but he eventually let go, court records say. The man called 911 and was taken to Community Hospital in Munster for treatment.

His blue 2012 Nissan Altima was recovered later that night in Highland, records say.
