GARY — Police are still seeking tips about a man seen on video near the scene of a shooting Friday that left a 37-year-old man wounded, authorities said.

Gary police released surveillance images of the man Friday evening, about three hours after the shooting in the 2000 block of Clark Road.

The victim told police he walked out of Tarrytown Liquors, noticed a man outside and approached the man to ask him about burglaries in the area, Cmdr. Jack Hamady said.

The man pulled out a gun and shot the victim before running away, police said.

Someone in a vehicle arrived and took the victim to a local hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sgt. Gregory Wolf at 219-881-1210 or 219-576-4014. To remain anonymous, call 866-CRIME-GP.
