GARY — A 69-year-old man has been identified as the third member of the same family killed in four homicides within one week, officials said.
Wayne Valentine, of Fair Oaks, was found dead from a gunshot wound about 9:10 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Jennings Street, according to the Lake County coroner's office.
Valentine's brother, Jimmy Valentine, 55, of Gary, was found dead from a gunshot wound about 12:20 p.m. Monday in a ditch in the 2500 block of Calhoun Street.
Jimmy Valentine's wife, Tracy Valentine, 48, of Hobart, and Timothy Snow, 55, of Hammond, were found dead Feb. 20 inside a home in the 400 block of Jefferson Street.
Snow was not related to the other victims.
The cause of their deaths was pending further investigation, a coroner's release said.
Gary has recorded 12 homicides so far this year, records show.
