A fugitive sex offender and a man wanted on murder charges were arrested by U.S. Marshals Thursday morning in Gary.

Lironte D. Biggs, 24, was arrested without incident about 8 a.m. in the 5900 block of Forest Avenue in Gary, according to Inspector Mark Gregoline of the U.S. Marshals' Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Biggs was staying at the home with a female associate, the inspector said.

Biggs, a registered sex offender, was wanted by authorities for more than a year after he was charged Aug. 25, 2017, with possessing a stolen handgun in Gary. Biggs was also charged with failing to register as a sex offender during that time.

Daidreon Sparks, 22, was taken into custody 7:30 a.m. at a female associate's home in the 5800 block of Kennedy Terrace in Gary, Gregoline said.

Sparks has been wanted by authorities since Aug. 22, when he was charged with murder and attempted armed robbery in the shooting death of Donald Fuzzell.

Fuzzell, 21, was shot to death April 12, 2015, during an attempted robbery outside the entrance to 23rd Street Gas, 2395 Broadway in Gary.

The other defendants charged in the murder are Jimmie Caldwell, 20, Dontrall “Trall” Phillips, 23, and Walter A. Rondo III, 22.
